Braeden & Kelsey: A Country Elopement

elopement photography, wedding photography, Virginia wedding

You already know how much I love a beautiful elopement, so I can skip right to the rest... I'll just shed some light on the struggles leading up to this perfect day. About half way through the week, the forecast was looking terrible and Kelsey had her heart set on doing these pictures at a family friend's farm. Then, the night before, their sweet little girl was so sick she had to go to the hospital. They were devastated that she wouldn't get pictured in her adorable little white dress and that she was feeling so badly. Even though there were moments we weren't sure if we would get to do the session, it turned out to be a dream.

As we walked down towards the creek, the green surroundings slowly turned into an enchanted bluebell sanctuary. You might think I'm exaggerating, but I seriously was amazed! The owner of the property said that each year, the bluebells bloom and the area can't be mowed until the flowers are drooping. This helps them to bloom in abundance the following year. I couldn't help but think about the week leading up to this session and how right when things were looking droopy, the beauty was shown.
